PRINTER CONTROL COMMANDS
Theprinterhas two emulationmodes:StandardmodeandIBMmode.
Instandardmode,theprinteremulatesthefunctionsoftheEpsonFX-1050.
In IBM mode, the printer emulatesthe IBM ProprinterXL. Additional
commandcodesare includedas a supersetof theseemulations.
Theemulations changedbymeansofDIPswitch1-6.WhenON,theprinter
will be in standard mode, and when OFF, the printer will be in IBM
emulationmode(seeChapter3).It is notpossibleto changetheemulation
modeby meansof softwarecontrolor the frontcontrolpanel.
Thischapterdescribestheprinter’scontrolcommands.Somecommandsare
commontoboththestandardandIBMmodes.Inthedescriptionsofthecom-
mands,allcommandswillbegivenbyfunction.Thenameofeachcommand
is followedby a tableliketheonebelow:

Indicates the ASCII coding of the command.
Controlcharactersareenclosedin pointedbrack-
ets:For example,<O>meanscharactercodeO.
Givesthecommandin decimalcharactercodes.
Gives the command in hexadecimal character
codes.
Parametersforwhichvaluesmustbe suppliedareindicatedby italicletters
suchas n.
